Nuvei Gets the MiCAR Green Light… and Europe Just Got a New Crypto Rail
Hey Payments Fanatic!
Nuvei just received its Crypto-Asset Service Provider license under the EU’s MiCAR framework.
With one license, Nuvei can now passport crypto-asset services across EU member states. No fragmented rules. No market-by-market setup. The full scope of what this enables is outlined in Nuvei’s MiCAR approval.
Crypto storage. Transfers. Crypto-to-fiat flows. All are built directly into Nuvei’s broader Payments infrastructure.
Phil Fayer, CEO of Nuvei, points to MiCAR as the clarity Europe needed. For customers, that means moving value across crypto and traditional Payments with far less friction.
Add the Payment Institution license on top, and Nuvei can now support crypto, EMT, and fiat flows through one regulated platform. That’s a big simplification for merchants operating across multiple EU markets.
