SBS Adds Wero Digital Wallet Support to Its Open Banking Platform
Hey Payments Fanatic!
SBS upgraded its open banking platform to support Wero, the European Payments Initiative’s digital wallet.
Wero continues to scale across Europe with A2A payments, giving banks an alternative to card networks. Tens of millions of users have already joined in the first markets. The SBS platform sits between EPI services and a bank’s core systems, remaining aligned with the strategic plan.
SBS says custom integrations look simple but require constant changes. The update removes that burden and lets banks launch Wero directly or embed it in existing digital journeys. The goal is less maintenance, more flexibility.
The platform now also supports FDX and PSD3 PSR1, with preparations underway for FIDA and the Digital Euro. The update is part of the next-gen open banking roadmap outlined in the company’s announcement
The European Payments stack keeps moving faster each week. Stay informed, and I'll be back soon with more updates for you!
Cheers,
