Binance's $470M Lawsuit Derails RedotPay's Wall Street Debut
Hey Payments Fanatic!
RedotPay had big plans for Wall Street. Now it's pumping the brakes.
The Hong Kong-based stablecoin payments firm has put its $1 billion U.S. IPO on hold, according to Bloomberg.
The listing was originally targeted for this year, with JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and Jefferies already tapped. Now it's unlikely to happen before 2027.
And the reason is: a $470 million lawsuit from Binance, alleging RedotPay poached roughly 470,000 users from a shared partnership... That's a serious overhang for any company eyeing a public debut.
This comes as RedotPay just secured a U.S. money transmitter license this week and is actively preparing a U.S. product launch.
