Hey Payments Fanatic!

A notable update coming out of Chile 🇨🇱

Getnet, the acquiring arm of Banco Santander, reported $49.5 million in profit for 2025, a 68% increase year over year.

That performance puts Getnet ahead of Transbank in profitability for the period. The growth seems to be driven by two things: strong SME adoption and merchant expansion.

Getnet now operates around 310,000 POS terminals across Chile and has built a base of more than 172,000 small and medium-sized businesses.

According to Santander, demand is also increasing among larger merchants looking for host-to-host integrated payment solutions.

This momentum also comes after the integration of PagoNxt as a strategic partner, reinforcing Santander’s broader push to scale its payments ecosystem across markets.

According to Fernando Benito, CEO of Getnet Chile, the performance reflects “the growing adoption of our services by merchants of all sizes across the country.”
