Mollie Is Putting €350 Million Behind a Bigger European Ambition
Hey Payments Fanatic!
Mollie just made one of the clearest statements yet about where it sees future growth coming from.
The company announced a €350 million investment plan and is now live across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area, completing its geographic expansion with launches in Croatia and Iceland.
Mollie isn't expanding into Europe anymore. It's already there. With full coverage across all 30 EEA markets and a €350 million commitment to the region, the company is making a sizeable bet that cross-border commerce within Europe still has plenty of room to grow.
That's an interesting position at a time when many FinTechs are looking further afield for growth opportunities.
For merchants, Europe remains one of the world's largest commercial markets, but also one of its most fragmented. For payment providers, helping businesses navigate that complexity is becoming an increasingly valuable opportunity.
And speaking of cross-border payments, keep scrolling for Wise's latest quarterly results. The company processed £49.4 billion in cross-border volume during Q4 and continues to show how lower pricing can drive higher growth at scale.
Today's remaining Payments headlines are just below. 👇 See you on Monday!
Cheers,
