Stripe Brings in the Valora Team… and It’s Another Clear Push Into Stablecoin Payments
Hey Payments Fanatics!
Stripe just brought in the team behind Valora, the mobile wallet built on Celo, to speed up its stablecoin and blockchain infrastructure work.
The Valora app stays with cLabs, but its creators are moving inside Stripe to build new payment rails. These are the same people who raised a $20M Series A and designed one of the most user-friendly wallets in Web3.
Valora's CEO and Co-founder, Jackie Bona, says the alignment was obvious. Access to stablecoins expands opportunity, and joining Stripe accelerates that mission with global reach and real-world distribution.
For Stripe, this fits perfectly with everything we’ve been seeing: stablecoin payouts, the Bridge acquisition, Tempo opening up.
And from where I’m sitting, this isn’t random. It’s moving faster than most people realize. Stripe has been lining up piece after piece for months, and this move just makes the picture even clearer.
